Hello all,

I just joined these forums as I need some advice. My father passed away a few weeks ago and as I have been going through his things I came across a camera, I know nothing about about cameras, but know this thing must be fairly rare.

Does anyone know where i can get this appraised or some more information on it? Pics attached

It appears one was auctioned on-line by a company in Honk Kong in 2017 (HB 025) and the expected price was HK $120,000 ~ 180,000, however I know of a Leica Auction House, based in Austria, I think that they would be able to provide an accurate appraisal.

Here is a link to their website: [LINK].

Good luck.

I am sorry for your loss.

The Leica M6 Platinum 'Sultan of Brunei Silver Jubilee Edition' is described on these pages:

Leica M6 Sultan of Negeri Brunei Darulsalam Silver jubilee GOLD Edition with gold plated SUMMILUX-M 1:1.4/50mm, 1992

Leica M6 Sultan of Negara Brunei Darussalam Platinum Edition with Diamond & Platinum-plated SUMMILUX-M 1:1.4/50mm, 1995

Various special editions were made for the Sultan, some in gold and others in platinum. A few even had diamonds on the top plate! As above, you need to talk to a specialist at somewhere like Westlicht. You might also post here (but they can't give valuations):
