DavidTriplett
This is the additional weekly image thread for the Nature Forum. While images posted to this thread should still be nature in theme, it may contain a small amount of human-made objects and therefore less restricted than the Monday in Nature threads. Please see this discussion for more details: Alternative weekly thread in Nature forum Each participant please post no more than just one image per weekly thread. Now that I'm back from some travels, Shun suggested I start this thread along with the MiN thread I was trying to mind. So, this week's starter post is a very early effort with my then-new D5100 and kit lens. (Shall we do a retrospective this week?) The local deer love to come down out of the hills to eat our surfeit of fallen mulberries, so we frequently have all manner of critters in the front yard. This little fella has as many cockle-burs as berries in his life. They mostly come in the evening, when the light is very limited and catching a good image without a fast lens is pretty tough. I see this more as documentary than anything else.

PuntaColorada
Gas plant. It actually produces sufficient volatiles that a spark next to the flower will cause a brief flash of blue when observed in low light conditions.
