My Workspace - Your Equipment

Okay, my question is this.

Under My Workspace - Your Equipment, there is an area to add a list of your

equipment.

Is this a "For my eyes only", or are other people going to see this?

I don't want to assume it's just a place to keep track of what I have in case

something gets stolen, etc.

I'd rather not have an "unhonest" person seeing what I have and somehow

figuring out where I live.

Sorry, I just didn't see any obvious answers to this.

I wondered too, and just went and tried it. When I'm logged out, I cannot see my list of equipment. The only public viewing of it is when I list the gear for a particular shot.

I would not consider personal camera inventory info on a public web site safe and secure.

Then again... the web is very very big, and how many bad guys hunt online for caches of used camera gear to burgle?

So, while the info isn'r particularly secure, having it on the web is not likely to pose a real risk to the gear.

I think the "my equipment" area is partly to keep a list in case of theft (I found it very useful for an itemised list of equipment for insurance) and also so that we can give details of the equipment we used when uploading our photos.

However, it's optional, so don't feeled compelled to add anything to the list if you don't want to.

Just wanted a place to easily store this info for insurance reasons without emailing it to myself everywhere.
