My quest for the perfect Macro/Close up flash...

  1. Believe it or not this exactly the one I have(Meiki FC 100) that's been collecting dust in my dungeon. Forgot how much I paid for it off ebay, but I tested all the functions before putting it in storage and everything seems to work fine...
  2. I'm such a 'fool' for cheap stuff. This FC-100 is plastic dressed up as metal, but it was SUCH a bargain.
As I say, it's not very powerful but it does work.
  3. About the time I was buying my Nikon FM, someone else in the store was buying the Nikon 45/2.8GN.

He wanted a light lens for backpacking, but the design of the lens is to simplify flash photography.
With GN mode enabled, it sets the aperture based on focus distance and a set guide number.

    No GN arithmetic needed.
  4. Ring flashes made with xenon flash tubes were always nice, but also expensive.
Now that they make them with LEDs, much more affordable.

I don't have one yet, though.
