chip l.
Been offered a MR14-EX at a price that I can't resist. But I would be more interested if I could use this wirelessly with my my 420EX (I have looked at the Canon website and they say that it works wirelessly with the 550EX (I assume with the 580EX also). I understand that i might need to go with the ST-E2. Any help here?
t_c5
14Ex works fine as a wireless master & will control one or more 420ex's with full ratio control etc. You can group the 420s with the sides of the 14 as A+B or assign them to their own group (A+B)+C Good luck
eosdoc
Refer to: <a title= "EOS Documentation Project" target=loser href= http://eosdoc.com/manuals.asp?q=ETTLDx >E-TTL Advanced Flash Differences</a> <P> According to that table, the MR-14EX can act as wireless E-TTL master in either Auto-power or Manual(fixed-)power mode. However, the 420EX will only respond to Auto-power signals, and will not respond to Manual-power control signals. <P> Wireless E-TTL Recipes are in a separate <a title= "E-TTL Flash Recipes" target=loser href= http://eosdoc.com/manuals.asp?q=ETTLRx >document</a> at <a target= "EOS Documentation Project" href= http://eosdoc.com/ >eosdoc</a>.
