phil_johnson
I am wondering if anyone knows of a type of underwater housing for a small, manual camera with a 35-75(not a zoom lense, anything in that range of lenses) lense? The camera is a Yashica or Chinon. Also, if could I take a picture with a camera and a housing not underwater (example: shooting somethink above the water)?
- Phil
martin_feldman
I an unaware of any rigid housings made for those two cameras. If anyone knows, it will be ABSea Photo in Los Angeles ((310-645-8992).
Another option is one of those EWA camera bags (see previous questions). I have no experience with that set-up.
I would not recommend the usual housing for above water use unless your standing waist deep in the surf. They are quite heavy outside of the water. In addition, shooting through a plastic port doesn't do much for the image.
If your really worried about water damage, buy a Nikonos with a 35mm lens. This combination can be used above and below the water.
