    Right, an anhinga has a pointed beak: Anhinga

    Otherwise, there are indeed some similarities to cormorants. I used to see both quite often in Florida. I am sure they are still there, but I haven't been to Florida for over a decade.

    You're right to clarify the pointed beak. My comment left room for confusion as spear ends aren't created equal. I used to see both birds in Louisiana when I lived there. Both perch with wings somewhat extended to dry out. I always enjoyed watching anhingas in the swamps.
