Basic Guidelines: In the strictest sense, nature photography should not include "hand of man elements". Please refrain from images with buildings or human made structures like roads, fences, walls. Pets are not permitted. Captive subjects in zoos, arboretums, or aquariums are permitted, but must be declared, and must focus on the subject, not the captivity. Images with obvious human made elements will likely be deleted from the thread, with an explanation to the photographer. Guidelines are based on PSA rules governing Nature photography which also cover the Nature Forum. Keep your image at/under 1000 pixels on the long axis for in-line viewing. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site at Flicker, Photobucket, your own site, etc.

Each member please post no more than just one image to this weekly thread per week.

This is another one from a while back, renewed and re-explored.

Debbie, just a friendly reminder: Monday in Nature rules are no "hand of man". The fence in the foreground makes this image more apropos to the Nature Unlimited forum on Friday. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing.:)

So sorry. I do know that and I have to admit that I never saw the fence until I saw it here. I will be more careful. I was just browsing some archived photos.

I didn't see it either until it was pointed out. According to PSA rule, it is admissible if the hand-of-man area is not visible. Translated: Your wild turkey with beautiful sparkling eye is perfectly legit if you had excluded the fence at the bottom (cropping, not cloning). :)

Shaken but not stirred?

I just reread it. Basically, nothing should be added or taken away. So cloning would be taking away something to replace with something else.

See the PSA Nature Rule here (click).

What's applicable in this case is: "No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted."
