MTC Photography Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Minox in cooperation with Rollei has come up with a new digital mini Rolleiflex TLR camera with 3.1 megapixelchip

<img src="http://www.minox.com/minox2002/gifs/kundenbilder/news/rolleiflex_g.jpg"border=3>
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hugh_crawford1 Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 If you read the specs you will see that it is really a 1440000 (1200x1200) chip. It's been around for a year or two, I'd pay serious money for a serious TLR style ( square format - waist level finder ) digital camera Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
stephen hazelton Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Hugh, are you sure it's this one that's been around? They had a film mini TLR, and a digital mini Leica already- but did they have a digital mini TLR? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andrew robertson Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Yes, they have had the Rollei digital TLR for some time now. Pretty cute, but it'd be a lot better if it were a 'real' camera with manually adjustable aperture, shutter, and focus. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MTC Photography Posted November 11, 2005 Author Share Posted November 11, 2005 This digi Rolleiflex is available also from
Minox Processeing lab in USA for $279. For people outside EU, this is a better deal, as the Minox.de price of 279EURO contains VAT. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jochen_S Posted December 1, 2005 Share Posted December 1, 2005 I could maybe cope with the LCD finder if there was a rechargeable power source. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MTC Photography Posted December 1, 2005 Author Share Posted December 1, 2005 You may try rechargeable CR2 :http://www.advan-tec.co.uk/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MTC Photography Posted December 2, 2005 Author Share Posted December 2, 2005 Warning, the rechargeable CR2 is 3.6v instead of 3 v, the 20% higher voltage may toast the electronics of this camera. The instruction manual warns against using other kind of battery beside the specified one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

xavier_dalfort Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Hello Martin. Thanks for poszting the results of this new camera. It is really impressive. A few months ago, I gought a Yashica 124G and just had this idea of a Digicam Twin lens. TaDaaa, here it comes. I Really love it! Regards. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
xavier_dalfort Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Hi Again! Hust out of curiosity, does the LCD displays a reversed image as on the real one? It means up is up, down is down but reversed horizontally, the left of the viewed image is actually the right of the scene? Then it is really fun! MTC Photography Posted December 9, 2005 Author Share Posted December 9, 2005 Xavier, there is no left/right reversal, other than that is is really like a miniature Rolleiflex. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MTC Photography Posted December 26, 2005 Author Share Posted December 26, 2005 The Rolleiflex minidigi package comes with a 32M MMC card, taking 80 high resolution 1760x1760 pictures.
I insert a 512M SD card, the maximum count now goes to 1285 pictures. MTC Photography Posted January 14, 2006 Author Share Posted January 14, 2006 According to this link, the orginal Rolleiflex minidigi had only 1.3Mega sensor in 1280x 960 format; in March of 2004it was upgraded to 2M sensor with 1280x1280 format; the latest version now selling in North America is also a 2M physical sensor butwith 1760x1760 format yielding 3M thru interpolation. I am sure a even newer version with 3M sensor and 4M picture will not be far behind. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

john_trent Posted January 30, 2006 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Martin, do you have any data on equivalent focal length? I'm so tired of wide-angle lenses (the main reason my 35GT doesn't see much use); I'm hoping the 9mm lens on this mini-digi has the same field of view afforded by the 75 or 80mm lenses fitted to most 2 1/4 TLR's. Also, do you know the file sizes of pictures taken at the lower resolution settings? Thanks so much. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
