MTC Photography
Minox GTE/GTX/GTS/35ML has a standard circle of confusion of 1/30 mm. The hyperfocal distances are 15m @ F2.8; 10.4M @ F4; 7.5M @ F5.6; 4.6M @ F8; 3.8m at F11 and 2.7M at F16.
MTC Photography
With a coc = 1/30mm for Minotar/Minoxar lens, an 8x10" enlargment for it will look sharp at 10" distance. You may double the enlargement size to 16x 20" and view it at twice the distance, ie at 20" away.
MTC Photography
Tim,
CIRCLE OF CONFUSION

Image of a point source is only pin sharp at the exact image plane, deviate from here, the image will become blurry, and its a circle called "circle of confusion". The maximum diameter of circle of confusion is chosen :

for 35mm camera: 1/30 mm
for 8x11 camera 1/60 to 1/100mm
robert_j_l
I read in the user books of Minox 35 EL, GL and GT that the scale of DOF was calculated for a COC of 1/36 mm, which garanteed sharper results than with a COC of 1/30 mm. This is the sign of high quality wish from the manufacturer.
