mark_hahn
I just got finished adding a second aperture to my Holga 120GN and realized that if I covered half the ruby window that I could use the sliding mask as a light blocking mechanism instead of taping it. I only use the Holga for 6x6 so I don't need to use the "16" position for film counting... I taped some black paper over the lower portion of ruby window and can slide the mask to the "16" when I'm not winding film and the window is blocked from light.

... thought maybe someone would find this helpful.

mark_hahn
thank you!

Actually, I went back and cut a paper mask with only a hole for reading the numbers and it blocks the light better.

This minor mod made shooting my 120GN much more fun this weekend... surprising how one little thing can make a big difference in your enjoyment.
clive1
You can also do it with a bit of black electrical tape stuck on the inside over the 16 window.
mark_hahn
I don't like doing anything with black electrical tape and cameras because it gets gummy when it gets hot. I was out of black acid-free tape.
