gatorgums
Hello everyone and merry Christmas /happy Hanukkah to all! Thanks to everyone and anyone who has ever contributed an answer to any questionasked! Happy to give a report thatb l have a new " baby " !I found a Yashica MG-1 at the local grounds for $28, not too bad. It is a beauty and l am quite enamoured with it's black finish and colorful electric LEDs on top! I am however, a little hesitant to make that $10 Duracell 6 volt battery purchase! Anyway, best wishes to everyone.MS
User_503771
Yes, but maybe it would be a good picture taker? Besides, adding a $10 camera increases its value, magically turning your $28 camera into a $38 camera! All kidding aside, nice find. And all best wishes to you, too. jon_goodman1
Merry Christmas to you (and everyone else), also, Mike! Those are very nice cameras. There are some options on batteries...probably several on the internet. You can also use the instructions I've written for the Electro 35 series to re-seal it (which will help as the hinge end seal normally leaks on these). Here they are: http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/sealreplacement.html Jon
gatorgums
Thanks very much for the link and info ! This is really good to know! As soon as l get the battery and film i will take some pics and send some up for everyones revue. To me there are only so many equals and fewer that exceed the nice finish of a photo taken with a Yashica Lens. Don't laugh, but l once had a lowly Yashica MF-2 35 fixed lens p&S ( you may recognize the model) and i even was very take with that cameras ability to capture 3D -like images! Anyway, thanks again.
