Memory Stick 128MB Magic Gate - Trouble

Discussion in 'Mirrorless Digital Cameras' started by anna_k|3, Aug 2, 2005.

  1. I have a Sony DSC-P72, I have 3 memory sticks, 2 are working fine,
the 3rd stick gave me trouble in the camera (I kept getting error
codes)after approx. 70 pictures. I inserted the memory stick into a
Memorex reader and it does not see it, therefore I cannot unload the
photos. I have been using the stick for about 1 year, this is the
first time I have been unable to unload the photos onto PC. Any
help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. See if you can download the photos through the USB cable. Then try reformatting it in the camera. Otherwise, I probably would get rid of it. Memory is cheap enough, and it's not worth the risk to keep around an unreliable memory card.

  3. If you cannot find anywhere like this near you check out www.datarecovery.co.nz
People with the knowledge can download quite a bit of material.
Alternatively try putting the card into another camera and see if you can download through it. Sony are a pretty common make of camera, their digital videocameras also use sticks for storage of still pictures.

But DONT format until you have the pix safely ... silly suggestion.
