tommykellner
... and not been taking pictures pretty much since then either

Hello,
I had been thrown into something like a creative vacuum when my 2nd son was born in 2006 (no worries, all is well now) and was trying to get out of it ever since - there were times where I did not even want to touch a camera, never mind look at my own pictures ... I have started to take steps (hopefully) in the right direction methinks, by sharing my work and revisiting communities such as this one. I have started a website-cum-blog recently (days ago in fact) to (re-)engage not only with the subject matter, but also with like minded fellow photographers.

Feels good to be 'home' :-)
All the best
Tommy
LenMarriott
Tommy, You've been short changing us with your absence. Gotta love your recent posts, especially your "Desert Rain" offering. Phenomenal sky. Am looking forward to more of your posts. Best, LM.

tommykellner
Thanks Scott, I will do my best to keep it up :-)

@Len ... I took some time to look at your portfolio (I always do - take time that is). Lovely, especially the B&W images - I suppose you can tell by my own portfolio that I am a sucker for B&W :-)

If there is anything I would like to critique (yes, I also enjoy being the Devil's Advocate at times), is that some of your outstanding work is diluted by mixing it in with other unrelated images ... why did you not sort your albums by subject matter? Just curious.

So long
Tommy
LenMarriott
Tommy, Why not sorted? No imagination I suppose! On a more serious note the sorting by years should indicate my typical output progression (regression?) through time. I don't consider myself a serious artist. My posts are simply a record of the every day things that have caught my eye and that I felt were worth recording. I do attempt to portray them in the most attractive way I can though; a little post processing goes a long way. Thanks for your interest & follow up. Best, LM.
jim_j2
Welcome back to PN Tommy!

Looks like you have a very good start on your Portfolio! I too like the "Desert Rain" image the best followed by the "Shipwreck."

I too took a hiatus for some time but lately have been back in "full swing" with some new lenses and gear, and a "more varied" subject interest.

Look forward to seeing more of your work!
tommykellner
Thanks Jim, here's one of my favorites:
“Making art is hard! Remember that when you want to quit, don’t. Just stop for a while. You can begin again after stopping, but not if you quit.”
- – From ‘Art and Fear’ by David Bayles and Ted Orland
I like your style, the vehicles and aircraft are super ... I love vintage ... keep'em coming please

Len, I don't buy that ;-) ... anyhoo, no regression but history - and as such I enjoyed the browsing, just lost the thread once or twice ... still love your work :-)

All the best
Tommy
