Is it the number on the little silver barcode sticker on the bottom that starts with a two digit number in parenthesis or is it somewhere else? canon man Posted December 31, 2002 Share Posted December 31, 2002 That is not a dumb question all, and I find it warrants a search for an answer. Usually Canon AF cameras have the serial nuber on the inside of the film compartment. It can be found right under the film canister. There is a set of numbers in black ink just berely visible but readable. My Elan 7 has a set of numbers there and they are not the same numbers as the ones on the barcode.I would be curious to find out what the barcode is for, maybe SKU numbers for the retail outlet?Curious.
