don_minton1
The scale on the side of the bellows is, I assume, to compensate for light fall-off at longer bellows extensions. My question is: Does the 2x mean to double you exposure time (i.e. 1 stop) , or to increase it by 2 stops? Thx
syd
2 stops...
enrico__
i always thought '2x' refered to a 'factor'.. in fact being 1 stop...
don_minton1
Ok.. thats one vote for 1 stop, 1 for 2 stops :P ..... Does anyone have a manual to settle this? Or will it have to come down to some dangling chads.....
siu_fai_au1
It's increase 2 stops. If 2x means doubling exposure than the 0.5x in the beginning means, errrr......
geoff_mcauliffe
2x is one stop. It is my understanding that the exposure scales on the side of the C220/C330 are not very accurate but I have not tested mine.
chris_waller
'2x' is one stop.
al_kaplan1
Measure the dang thing! If you extend the lens by another 80mm to get to the 2X mark you open up two stops. If you only extend it about 32mm you open up one stop. Then you let us know, OK?

syd
Like I said, two stops...
skipd
If you read the fine print in the link provided by Todd, it's only 2X exposure or 1 stop. That's pretty plain to me. Unfortunately, I could not find the manual for my ole C33. The C33 doesn't have the scale on it, but I am sure the manual explained what to do. By the way - anybody interested in a really nice C33? If so, email me. I have the 80mm and 135mm lenses, the Mamiya side handle, and a porro viewfinder. Skip

todd frederick
According to the manual and on the page posted it is a factor...x1 is the base exposure, x1.5 is on half increase in exposure, x2 is twice the exposure (or one stop larger or one stop slower in shutter speed) and so on. The manual page posed even gives an example.
syd
I said 2 stops because I was assuming that Mamiya would have rationalised these systems. On my Rb the compensation gives 0.5 and 1+ etc. In this system 1 = open up one whole stop and 0.5 = 1/2 a stop. Seems this isn't standard.
graham_patterson1
2x is an exposure factor. If it just said '2' I would assume stops. The C series scales are conservative and favour overexposure. It is actually a better system than the moving marker on the C33 and later models because it is all too easy to forget to re-program the system when you change lenses. 1.5x is about 1.41 stops... 8-)
enrico__
2x is an exposure factor right? so 2x = 1 stop.. no? If this is the case then how can 1.5x mean 1.41 stops...???!
