jeffblucher
My Mamiya 645AF has just started leaving an arc of lightness on the left side of the frame. Has anyone seen this? Any ideas?
rodeo_joe1
Do you have an alternative film back (magazine) you can try? I was never impressed with the quality or attachment mechanism of Mamiya's 645 interchangeable backs. I had a couple of magazines that showed warping and cracking of the faceplates, and the claw attachment mechanism on the camera bodies would stretch or work loose. In short, it's very easy to get a slight gap between camera body and film back. This is the first area I'd examine for a suspected light leak. The attachment claws can be bent back into shape or re-positioned fairly easily, but a warped or cracked magazine facing can't be repaired and the whole magazine needs replacing. I imagine it's getting increasingly difficult to find ones in good condition these days.
