dave_d2
Hi Folks.
I'm looking to trigger the 645 AF for self-family portraits.
There's a guy on eBay selling what is claimed to be a new Mamiya RS 402 for around $50.
A few questions:
1) Did Mamiya make such a remote? I cannot find documentation anywhere that I've looked.
2) Since the "402" doesn't have a delay mode, I'd have to set the delay via the 645 AF bodies self timer.
I'm curious to know if the body supports this, or if it only supports instant-fire triggering. Kind of a
problem since it's infrared and I need to point the remote at the body.
3) Would the autofocus be disabled or not? There may be times when I actually want autofocus left on,
as we shift around during final poses. I've usually do M/F with the self timer and I lose a few to bad
focus during jostling around.

Thanks.
Dustin McAmera
The RS402 is mentioned in the manual for the AFDIII (which you can get from the Mamiya Leaf website), and uses the same socket as the electronic cable release RE401. The manual doesn't give any more detail than that, however.
ranjan_pendharkar2
Yes, they did make it. There is one for sale on KEH.com right now. You should call them.
csaba_sarkadi
Hi, Do I understand it correctly, that if I buy 2 sets of RS402, I will be able to control two Mamiya AFD III-s (trigger them both at the same time). Does this work OK in studio env? I mean one camera is triggering the studio flash, and the two cameras are making the picture the same time (since they are triggered together)? Is it possible somehow, that if I have two cameras: one is triggering the studio flash, and the second camera at the same time (so I don't use the remote, rather just take the photo with the first camera, while the 2nd one is taking it at the same time)?
