Mamiya 645 1000s and PD prism

Hello, just received a Mamiya 645 1000s with the PD prism all in good

condition and seems to work well , the only problem I have is that

the PD prism dosent fix tight on the body, it still move when i touch

it and I can even remove it without pushing the prism release button.

I cant figure out why the prism dosent fix tight, nothing seems to be

missed or broken on the prism or the body, I can see the 2 latches on

the prism and the 2 latches on the body, these latches that are

supposed to fix the prism.

Do I miss something else? could somebody please send me a photo of

the side of the prism that fit on the body ? I couldnt find this

photo on the web. Many thanks

I have a 1000s with a CdS prism, which I suppose is mechanically the same as the PD prism. I does not lock solidly to the body and I can wiggle it about a bit, but not very much. As for the latch, be sure you are pressing down the rear of the prism firmly when you mount it. Check the latch knob on the prism, it should be spring loaded to return to the locked position after turning it.

Tony - just to add one more "data sample," mine does the same thing. Just double check it each time you put it on by giving it a good wiggle and pulling up on it.

I have the same combination of and prism. On mine there is also a small space between the body and the prism. However I can't remove the prism without touching the release button.

AFAIK mine operates and meters well, so maybe it is 'normal' to have some space between.
