Making calendars from your photos

Discussion in 'Business of Photography' started by carlosmiller, Oct 8, 2006.

  1. I would like to put together a 2007 calendar with my photos to send to potential
clients, but I've never done this before.

Does anyone have any recommended companies that offer good rates as well as
    produce high-quality, professional looking calendars?

  2. Carlos, MPIX.com provides this service. I can not attest to their quality for the calendars - I have not used them for this. I do use MPIX for large prints, and have been happy with the results. FYI, the pictures need to be in sRGB color space.

  3. Carlos,

Lulu does a nice job of calendars. They aren't Browntrout quality but they are nice. You can upload 12 photos and make a calendar to see what you think. You can sell them at cost or raise the price and make a profit.

Forgive the personal links, but the calendars show up on their site like this:

You should convert your photos to sRGB before uploading them to Lulu.

You can customize the calendars to add your own dates and you can add a standard date set (4th of July, President's Day, etc).

You can upload a page that shows all of the individual monthly photos. Just click on one of the above calendars to get the description page, then choose "Preview this calendar."

My children use Lulu to do an annual calendar and add birthdays and anniversaries for everyone in the extended family that gets the calendar.
