M8

I know there was a link posted to this on the RRF; just tought I'd post this link here, too, for those

who can't wait until Friday. A French website has a post featuring lots of photos of the M8,

including lots of shots of the back, and specifically the LCD, so we not only see what it looks like,

but we can get an idea of the menu interface (it looks good- simple and clear, not unlike Canon

Looks great with one exception-and this has been mentioned already-delete and protect buttons being next to each other. That needs to be fixed.

Cool, it uses DNG. I'll take two, a 28 F2, a 35 f 1.4, a 75 f2, a couple of flashes, 12 gb of SD cards and a new macbook pro fully loaded. Oh and couple of round the world plane tickets and a prepaid Amex with $50,000. ;-)

M shape, ISO 160-2500, big screen, "Zooming" histogram (allows one to read the graph for a tiny area).

 

I see a firmware fix waiting to be made though - in one image the menu for file type reads ".DNR" instead of ".DNG"

 

Glad I placed my order 7 months ago! Ready to rock 'n roll!

Andy - don't forget to give us a mini review of your new M8 when you get it. Leica day is coming up at Englewood camera. I hope to see a handful of leica cameras from our Leica rep.

I don't read French but I didn't see anything like numbers (28mm, 35mm etc.)that would indicate the "reviewer" noted (or even noticed)what framelines are in the viewfinder. Did I miss it?
