M7 tests

Dear Leica friends,

I was said (a friend at LEICA import) that a few lucky pros received the M7 beginning year 2000 for tests. Leica absolutely wanted to avoid the reliability problems of the new R8.

Some (big) shutter problems were encountered during the test period and seemed to be resolved in the actual model.

I was also said Leica tried at the same time a classic full electronical shutter (seiko or copal, I don't know...) with the same electronis base as the R8.

I am interrested by more informations about that developpment period.
