stuart_todd
In my quest for reasonable priced screw mount Leica compatible lens (Ok ok!... you can stop laughing now), a fellow in a antique shop who seems to know a lot about cameras told me that you can get a Leica M lens to 39mm/LTM/Screw mount camera adaptor. Is this true? Stu :) PS. Who's the forum moderator around these parts? I have a question to ask about the forum policy.
rover
No, the adaptors will allow you to use LTM lenses on an M mount body.
skip_williams
The reason that you can't use M lenses on LTM cameras is that the flange-to-film distance is about 1mm larger on the M lenses (actually equal to the thickness of the LTM-to-M adapater). This allows the use of older LTM lenses on newer, M bodies.
stuart_todd
Skip, That's what I thought. So I asked just to make sure... Stu :)
