ted_stephens1
I have a chrome Luftwaffen-Eigentum with no lens. When I open the back it has the numbers F40765-6. There are no other numbers I can find. It belonged to my Father-in law who died 20 years ago and I just got around to checking some of his old camera equipment. Can anyone tell me anything about this camera? The shutter seems to work normally. Thanks. Ted tls1@razzolink.com
mag_miksch
"Luftwaffen Eigentum" means in english "property of airforce", so I dont think its a camera brand, best you post a photo of the baby.

mag_miksch
Ted, what I have seen from your pictures it is a "Robot II".
Have a look at http://www.robot-kameradienst.de/, they claim they can repair this cameras, so maybe they have more information about value.
http://www.robot-camera.de/ROBOT_Kameras/Robot_II/Robot_II_Luftwaffe/body_robot_ii_luftwaffe.html gives you some information.
Regards
Martin
charles_stobbs3
I have read that the Luftwaffe used rapid Robot cameras as gun cameras in their fighter planes to record combat where the US used 16mm movie cameras. It may be of very limited usefulness as a camera.
Uncle Goose
Most likely they were used for recon-missions, mostly mounted in a fast and light plane (fighter plane). If it's in nice shape it's certainly worth quite a bit (besides photograpy i'm also into Militaria, so I know what I am talking about).
