michael__
I have a Minox 35 GL. (by the way, my camera store just got in a new shipment of 6.0 v. non-mercury batteries!). Does anyone have any recommendation for available light photography, given that you can't adjust the shutter speed? The ASA setting won't go any higher than 800, which is OK, but the pictures don't always come out.
On the Minox subminiature, there's control over the shutter to 1000, but there's no film sold faster than 400 ASA. Any recommendations here for available light photography?
Thanks in advance.
MTC Photography
Mike, Minox has being pushing up the speed limits, from 800 of GL to 1600 of GT-E, and 3200 for latest GT-S.
Minox C/LX/TLX/EC/ECX has only a top ASA of 400, not fast enough for dim light situation.
But you can slit Kodak TMZ 3200, into four rolls of 40 exp 9.2mm film for use with Minox A/B or with C/LX/TLX in manual mode. Tmax 3200 can be push to EI 12.500. A small exposure meter such as Sekonic L188 with 12,500 range is handy
For low light still object I prefer Minox A or B, they have 1/20 ,1/10, 1/5, 1/2 plus B and T, hence provide more flexiblity in low light situation.
