seth_prince1
my early 2011 MacBook Pro recently $#!+ the bed, and i thought the auto-image importer was Canon's Image Capture i would plug in the SD card, or connect the camera, and a window would pop up, asking if i would like to select indivitdual files, or import all files. and with either selection, the pictures would be downloaded into the PICTURES folder, divided into their separate forlders, depending on date file created. now, with my new IMac, Image Capture just downloads to the PICTURE folder, and doesn't separate out into date-created folders i can't find a preference to create individual folders for this
seth_prince1
i guess Image Capture is an Apple product, but i can't figure out how to get it to import photos into folders according to date created. it did it automatically on my MBP
Ed_Ingold
I use Finder to create folders and copy images. If open, Lightroom will open the memory card and import the files if you agree.
J.W. Wall
ImageIngesterPro 3 is a very helpful program, can make backups, dng and many other features, but it is not supported anymore. Mine still works on an iMac with macOS v.10.13.6 (17G65). Used with LR and PS, two backups of each file, each on a different drive from the main collection, so a total of three. Also LR can import, but not as flexibly.
