movingex
I was wondering if anyone has ever put together a list of known and reputable places to buy new and used canon/third party equimpment. I am looking for a couple on lens (24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8) and it would be really great if I had a list of places that everyone has used to buy sucessfully. Everyone knows about Adorama and B&H but there has to be a few others out there. I have bought several things including my 20d from 17th Street Photo without any problems. Please let me know what you know. Thanks!
sf_photo1
This is perhaps out of date but check it out:
http://javd.cnc.net/camstore.html
jim_doty
Jake: Look at the responses to various dealers here: http://www.photo.net/neighbor/one-subcategory?id=2 Norman Camera was my favorite local dealer when I lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I still deal with them. http://www.normancamera.com/ Happy Shooting! Jim
lukas_kisiel
http://www.KEH.COM ! They've been around for many years and have a very good reputation. I've bought a few items from them and processing/delivery was slow, however, their return policy is very good. AND, their item condition ratings are very conservative - if it says "like new" it really is like new. Unfortunately, if it says "ugly" it pretty much is at the end of it's life. shambrick007
"Unfortunately, if it says "ugly" it pretty much is at the end of it's life."
Not necessarily. I've bout a few "ugly" items from them that were in perfect operational condition, and even perfect optically (no cleaning marks, scratches, haze, fungus, nada). Go figure... lukas_kisiel
Sheldon, I stand corrected. Actually, with KEH it's more like "ugly" is still not the end of the world. But since it's the bottom category you never know what you'll get. Then again, their return policy is great.
ted_rispoli
Another vote for KEH. I've bought several used items from them and have been very pleased so far. Ted
