Lightroom - How to "Turn Down the Strength" of Lightroom Presets

<p>Hello! I am working in Lightroom 3 and trying to find out how to apply a preset and then turn down the overall strength of the effect. I KNOW there has to be a way to do it, but I can't figure it out! Any tips are much appreciated!</p>

U can't ... You need to use each slider

<p>There isn't a way within Lightroom, other than to adjust the sliders separately as Patrick suggests. But there is a plug-in that will do it, called <a href="http://www.knobroom.com/thefader/">The Fader from Knobroom</a>.</p>

<p>You can create any number of presets you want. Save the effect you want as a named preset and then apply it later or when needed.</p>

<p>Would not want to change the LR Preset, but keep that as a standard.<br>

But, lets say take the General - Punch preset. I like it, but do not like the strength of the changes. So used it on a file, then modified the settings about half. Then, Clicked Develop, and made a "user" preset called Punch with only the boxes for Clarity, and Vibrance checked. Now have my own version that works the way I want.</p>
