mike_hoogendyk
Just got a hand-me-down Sony Clie. Downloaded f/Calc for starters. Anyone know of other good programs which can be used for large format related activities? Would really like something that could be used in the field to keep track of images taken and all the related information: which lens, time of day, date, exposure number, which camera, settings used, meter readings, plus or minus developing info, etc., etc. Need to know name of product, where to find it (URL), costs, why you like it, etc. Thanks for any help you can provide. unixadmin
Mike, If you already have a version of an office productivity suite (take your pick) with a database application, it should be farily easy to put together a database for shot information with an associated form for entering the data. Just a thought. I'm going over the same issue in my head right now, but I am comfortable programming (at least at the level required for this task). This opens my options up a little bit. It depends on what's more important, your time or your money.
unixadmin
Mike, Swing and a miss. Please excuse me for not having read your initial post more closely. Good luck with your new gadget.
xato
If you are going to run just one database the jfile shareware program works fine. It will back up to my PC through hotsync. I also use Tide Tool as I live near the Pacific Ocean to advise of the times of low tides.
dave_schneider
I would suggest you also dowload Bob Wheeler's Vade Mecum. It's available for Palm and Windows CE handhelds. This is a great program for calculating depth of field, swing, tilt, all kinds of stuff
mike_hoogendyk
W. Xato: I also use hotsync. Neat tool. Wish I could find a use for Tide Tool out here in the middle of the desert. :-) Dave S.: Thanks for the suggestion re: Wheeler's Vade Mecum. I downloaded it - and the 40 pg book that explains how to use it. I'll experiment with it over the next week or so. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
