lens adapter ???

    I have the following adapter, and I don't know what it is for, and I
    hope that one of you will. It is a novoflex, leihek. The male thread
    is 39mm, and screws into a Leica body. The female threads are 42mm.
    The approximate extension from the body would be approaximately 19mm.
    I wonder if this is to use a 42mm screw mount SLR lens on a Leica
    screw mount?

    I think you will find it's an adapter to fit the Leitz 135mm Hektor lens to the Novoflex bellows unit. You could check out the Novoflex catalogue on line.
