aplumpton
From Steve Gandy's Cameraquest site, it appears to be a Leica IIf rangerfinder of 1955. The IIf differs from the IIIf in that it does not have the slow speed dial on the front (a circular plate exists where the slow speed dial would be situated). Of course, some Leica cameras went back to the factory for upgrades, and this sometimes added the slower shutter speeds.
john_shriver
But a picture will help, as there are a LOT of counterfeit Leica cameras, based on Russian FED cameras.
baisao
What John said. Also, tiny details matter a lot.
Rob F.
My Hove Collector's books Leica Pocket Book, 7th edition, has it as a Leica IIf. Does it have a flash sync adjuster under the shutter speed dial? Can you post a picture of it?
Rick_van_Nooij
Just to reassure Paulo. I'm quite certain the Russians didn't bother with the "DBP" marking when they could get more cash putting "DRP" on their Zorkis or FEDs (with loads of swastikas for good measure). Also I've seen VERY few Leica fakes with a slow speed dial or cover. (Unless it was to turn a more common Leica into fake rare Leica)
