Leica Ms

<p>It seems that there are not many good M2s and M3s coming up for auction on THE auction site. Are people holding on to them? or are they not selling any more? Are these cameras still fetching good prices?</p>

<p>I see them all the time. Be patient. I got a nice very late M3 recently that had been serviced before by a reputable German repairman.<br>

<p>They seem to be around, but average quality seems to be coming off. Collectors are probably nabbing the primos. Paul, that's a nice machine, and it's a nice DR, too!</p>

<p>What I am not seeing too many of these days in London are 50mm f3.5 collapsible Elmars.</p>

<p>You may not see one for a week to 10 days, and right after you buy one you'll see seven more!</p>

<p>Amongst the UK retailers that I use there has been a slight fall in average price, and a bit larger fall in quality of Leica M gear over the last year. Gear in top condition appears to be holding its price better, but tends to be stuck on the shelves somewhat. However, I haven't seen an M3 that I'd want to buy (mainly due to condition) for around 5 months; maybe I'm just becoming more fussy ....</p>
