whitney_hey
I recently came across a Leica M4. I know next to nothing about these cameras, other than remembering from my childhood that they are of high quality. Full camera markings are Leica DBP, M4-1229775, ERNST LEITZ GMBH, WETZLAR GERMANY. Lens range is 28"- 25', or 0.7-10 meters. Any info anyone has about the quality and /or value of this piece would be greatly appreciated!

andrew_clark1
Depending on the condition, $750-$900 on eBay.
kris
I think an M4 will fetch $900-1300 depending on condition. I have never seen an M4 sold for less than an M3 like suggested in that Leica price website.
That lens range sounds like focusing distance range. Try to have a look at the front ring and see what's written there. Something like Summilux 1:1.4/50 or Summicron 1:2/50. And get the serial number of the lens too to find out which version and year of manufacture.
Kris
