willscarlett
I’m wondering if anyone knows a skilled leather craftsman. I have a Leica IIIf with the original case. I recently had the camera restored, and while the case is in decent shape for being at least 62 years old, some of the stitching needs to be redone. Specifically, the part of the case that holds the lens has completely detached. Thanks in advance!
Sandy Vongries
This is a really easy fix, unless the holes are ripped out. waxed thread, saddle needles (Tandy Leather | Leathercraft and Leather Craft Supplies ), needle nose pliers and some patience. Failing that - shoemaker, saddle shop, etc. A little Fiebings on the outside & you're good to go. Do inspect the shoulder strap carefully - they are often worse than the case, and unsafe! SCL
I'll second Sandy's recommendation. If you're leery about doing it yourself, often Tandy has associates or club members who can do it for you.
