Leica IIIc CLA

You might also want to talk to Leica in New Jersey. See if Leica themselves will still service that camera.

My IIIf is on its way right now to the Leica factory in Germany for a CLA which should have it back to original factory specs, so hopefully it will last another fifty some years.

Probably a bit more expensive than Don's service though.

Best,

I am waiting for a IIIa to return from Russia, where it was overhauled. This was the best option for me, given my budget and my geographical location (India). Oleg Khalyavin, the man who did the work, has a solid reputation for dealing with Soviet copies of the Leica II. Early this year I got back an M3 which had been done by DAG. Expensive, but I think worth it as I plan to use the camera for as long as I can take pictures.

I've used Don Goldberg, John Maddox (leica1925@aol.com), and Youxin Ye (wye7@yahoo.com) for screwmount Leica repairs - All are excellent. Ye would likely be the fastest but he was or is in China for a couple of months - I think he is getting back about now - late September or early October, 2010. Maddox is a specialist who works only on screwmount Leicas and their clones. Don Goldberg is a true master but he can be very busy. All are very clever at repairs.
