This leather case can be half open at the bottom for removal / insertion of SD card or battery(for recharge) The battery cover is secured by a snap in button at left. There is a tripod socket screw at the bottom. However , if put on this socket screw, it prevent the bottom to open for taking out SD card or battery. Hence I do not put on the socket screw.
