chip l.
Forgot to bring a print out home with me, but many silver lenses from Leica are discontinued and no stock remains. Two that I do remember are the 90 Macro and the 50/2.8.
__jon__
You might want to check the archive next time. This was announced a couple of months ago.
malcolm_tentt
Black armbands, flags at half staff, and all that. Sad day. Tsk.
steve_york1
All silvers except for the 50mm Summicron; 35mm Summicron ASPH; and the 50mm Elmarit are being discontinued. I know many of the silver lenses in the other focal lengths or speeds are still on the shelves.
simonpg
Will the new 50mm 'Lux ASPH not be made in silver? How can Leica do that (understandable on the larger/longer lenses), when it still sells silver bodies? If I'm tempted enough to get the new 50mm 'Lux ASPH, I'll definitely want it in silver! Will silver be an a la carte lens option?
kaiblanke
Simon,
black lenses still look good on silver bodies: The majority of my lenses is black, and it looks more than ok, no problem. Plus they look also ok on my black CL which is definitely a plus.
But I guess if you pay enough, they will for sure produce any silver lens for you. joseph_wang3
I doubt if this is true. Can anybody provide an authoratative reference to say it is true ?
