sandy.
Dear All,
Sorry, but lately, I become quite sick of all these unfounded doom-sayers talking about the demise of Leica. They talked as if they are Leica board members or CEO of Leica, yet in reality, we know nothing better rumors.
You write because you want to post, rumors or not. Truth is too stoic. Meanwhile, life just goes on in Solms. Trolls you are.
It is not interesting reading; reading all these silly speculations repeatedly is annoying. Most of you said that you don't give a damn about Leica's future, one way or the other; and some of you don't even like their cameras, particularly their owners, so why project your negative thoughts. Does it make you feel better to push a reputable company down like Leica?
If you have nothing better to say other than speculative bashing, please stop. I truly think we beating a dead horse, and the subject is getting very stale.
Get a life. Do something else. The whole thing is beyond our control anyway unless you plan to invest a lot of your own money in Leica. Otherwise you are just hurting it with your speculation and our bad mouthing Leica. Stop, please. I thank you.
Have a nice weekend.

Tony Rowlett
Thank you, Sandy! For a little while there, I thought my M camera was starting to disappear before my eyes. Man 0 man was I worried. I was thinking about just throwing all my Leica stuff in the garbage can and quitting photography completely! :-) Backups? blakley
Rumors? What rumors? I *know* Leica is doomed. I heard it from the same dependable source who told me Ilford was doomed.
woodward_hoffman
Add me as another person getting sick and tired of uninformed doom and gloom speculation. Posts adding actual real information (i.e., new stories appearing in the financial press or individuals having first hand knowledge which is new or relevant) are always welcome. But the posts whose main reason to exist is self pity or schadenfreude should be struck by the moderator.

gerry_szarek
Anybody who wants to sell their Leica's to me at $0.01 on the dollar, please email me. I am sure you will not want to be seen with an outdated camera around your neck, in fact you can put the money to use to buy a nice Canon DLSR. erik_den_hartigh
Eh, I'm sorry, but I seem to recall that there was an official press release that the banks have partly stopped their credit lines on Leica. Now everyone with a little business sense knows that with this happening to a company it's going to be tough to survive. At least there will be "restructuring" in any form, that we cannot predict as of now. I think we have some right to be concerned!

Bill Blackwell Images
Sometimes a post that quips is made because of the ridiculousness of the subject (or because it likely will get a rise out of someone). In fact, not all of the "concerns" about Leica's future are unfounded. But as to the redundancy of the subject, I absolutely agree the horse is dead and doesn't have to be beaten any more.
