gib
A colleague passed over to me a Kodalux L light meter in a leather case. It seems to be the later model, with incident and reflected light functions. The case says Made in Germany. Wonderful quality finish and construction. I found a page saying they are worth $20-30 dollars. 1959 year of construction, for use with Kodak Retinas. Any more knowledge or experience with this meter? I will be checking accuracy outside tomorrow against a modern meter. Belonged to my colleague's father, she is 65.<div></div>
micah_henry
WJ, I haven't used a Kodalux but I've eyed them off and on for a while. I read a little about them. They are companions to the meter-less Retinas or any camera with a shoe. They don't require a battery, being selenium cell meters. The white ribbed plastic cover slides in front of the meter cell for doing incident metering. That's about all I know. Since yours has been stored in its case (I assume, since case is in photo), it has a good chance of having lots of life left in it. Be sure to keep it in the dark (in case) when not in use to preserve the cell. --Micah in NC
mskovacs
What a little mechanical jewel. Does anyone know if this is a Gossen meter, given the close relationship with Kodak/Nagel?

conrad_poulin
It looks quite a bit like a metal version of a Gossen Pilot. I would bet it was made by Gossen. One of my favorite meters for general use is an old Gossen Sixtomat.
