erikj
I have been shooting Fuji slides for a little while and while I wasn't looking, Kodak came up with the E100 G, GX, VS line. Is it the same as Ektachrome 100?
scott_eaton
Uh, MUCH improved. E100G is worth a shoot.
matthew
In 2003, E100G replaced E100S, and E100GX replaced E100SW. E100VS is unchanged.

Grain is better, sharpness perhaps not. Here's Kodak's comparison chart of their current Ektachrome offerings.
dean_tyler
I have shot Fuji for about 5 years and recently have been trying some Kodak films. I first tried E200, but it seemed grainy compared to 400F. E100VS is the film that made me interested in G and GX. It is sharp and saturated, but different from Velvia (haven't tried Velvia 100F). If I want bright whites and blues I prefer E100VS. I really like this film and shoot it more and more. I think GX is fairly comparable to Provia 100F and on a light table I trouble distinguishing the two, except the Kodak chrome seem physically more thin. More and more I find myself shooting Provia 100F, 400F and E100vs.
discpad
For 200 speed slide film, shoot Provia 400 at E.I.200 and pull process one stop -- You'll get better overall results that E200...
