Ian Rance
As a Kodak Pocket Instamatic enthusiast I have become a bit of a dab hand at rebuilding the notorious K type battery. I was wondering if as a service to anyone wanting a fresh K battery I could do a rebuild and send them a rejuviated battery with fresh SR44's. There may be no interest, but I thought I would offer. I live in the UK and if you send me your flat battery I would send it back to you rebuilt. Perhaps if someone has a few flat ones knocking about, I could rebuild those to offer to new Pocket Instamatic owners who need a working cell. I don't want to make this into a money making exercise, but a helping hand for those who do not have the time or equipment (or perhaps bad eyesight) who cannot do the rebuild themselves. It will cost 10 Pounds for one battery rebild and postage anywhere in the world - and any other battery included would be 6 Pounds. This would include: 3 fresh SR44's linked and installed in the casing, a jiffy bag and worldwide postage. Please note that I can only do the Energizer ones - not the red Duracells (they use a battery as the end contact and also often are leaking a mercury gunge). If this post is innapropriate, please delete - however I was at a loss where to list. I look forward to helping if I can. Regards, Ian, UK
h._p.
Not that I'd have any use for it but that seems like a pretty fair offer. Well done, Ian.
jon_b.1
I have kept away from Pocket Instamatics because of the battery issues. With the service you are offering I might now seek one out. Can the batteries be overhauled multiple times or only once?
User_502260
I have a Trimlite 48 which I like. I forgot whether it takes a K battery or an L battery.
Ian Rance
To answer questions, yes - batteries can be overhauled many times - second, third time etc. are easier than the first rebuild. The Trimlite 48 takes a K battery. Look forward to helping you if I can. Ian, UK
jim_billiris2
Ian, I think the idea is fantastic. I am in Australia and was trying to get a tech interested in doing this but unfortunately he "couldn't be bothered". Can you tell me where to send a battery as I love 110 cameras but have not purchased the higher end models bacause of the battery issue. As far as payment is concerned can I send it via Paypal or how do you suggest keeping in mind fees that can be charged at both ends. ThanksJim
