RaymondC
I just got a new portable drive to put in a safe deposit box so it is offsite. I also have 1 backup drive inside the machine and 2 external drives in my drawer. I may put one of them in the safe deposit box also. Then I thought about cloud options. They do the maintaining of the hardware cos you are paying a subscription. Do you just have 1 of them? What happens if you rely on it and that (1) option failed. dcstep
How many TB? How fast is your internet connection?
RaymondC
I have 350GB of data. I know one other person and she has 3TB took her 3 weeks to upload so now it is just smaller uploads regularly. Over here in New Zealand for our fiber optic plans we have a 100Mbps downstream with a 20Mbps upload speed - this is the most common but one could get a 1,000Mbps downstream and a 100Mbps upload I guess. But there are companies that you can send them a hard drive (for backing up on the cloud) or they send you a hard drive so you can restore it faster.
