Jumpy rangefinder... /)

I have a Leica M6 that developed a jumpy rangefinder (maybe i was running to catch the bus,

with it on my shoulder, to often...it's an M6 with 20 years! in the future i will be more

careful... ; )

Anyway do you have an idea of what's wrong, I took it twice to the service to match infinity

but it keeps jumping...maybe it has to go to Germany? do have an idea of the prices for the

fix? Thank you.

The M6 seems to have a reputation for losing the rangefinder setting. It happened twice to one of mine, an M6 classic. I finally learned to adjust it myself. In fact I and several others have posted advice on doing this, and it should be in the archives someplace. That said, it shouldn't be happening on such a regular basis. There must be a way to tighten the adjustment, but I'm afraid I don't know what, or where, it is.

Neither of my M6TTL's have had this problem, though.
