Joshua Tree shooting locations

Hi! I'll be shooting in Joshua Tree NP this weekend and was wondering if there are

any good spots for shooting sunrises and sunsets in the park. I was thinking of

shooting at the Cholla Cactus garden for sunrise with the plants in the foreground.

Any other recommendations? I'm going to be shooting color transparencies not B&W

film, so please keep that in mind when making recommendations. Thanks. Look

This is an easy one. When you get there, just ask the many 5 legged cloth covered hunched over lg. format photogs who are gathering there this weekend for the free workshop. I wish I could join you guys. Enjoy! (check out the lg. format forum for more info ;-)

I'll be one of those 5 legged guys with a view camera. The thing is, I'll be arriving on

Saturday morning before sunrise and won't have time to ask any of the other guys so

early.

Keys View if it's not windy. Barker Dam might work for sunrise altho i haven't tried it at that time. Cholla would work as well.

<p>My favorite photo from Josh was one a joshua tree, with the moon seemingly resting on one of the branches, and a raven sitting on the uppermost branch. I guess I need to scan that one. Here's another favorite subject..
