Jobo with or without a lift?

I've been using a cpe2 I bought used without a lift for a few weeks

now, and it works great. I'm thinking of getting a lift for it to

make things a big easier (and cleaner, fewer drips of chem on the

table, etc). I was wondering if anyone has used a jobo with and

without a lift, and if you think it's a big imporovement to have one,

or nice but not quit worth the cash? Thanks very much for your replies.

I wouldn't want to use my CPE2+ without a lift. I feel, that I can be more consistent with one, not to mention it cuts down on mess.

On the other hand I have never used one without it. I'd imagine that it would be fine as long as you start without one and get used to it.

I had a Jobo processor without a lift and a friend had a processor with a lift. The lift was way easier. Of course, then another friend got an RA-4 machine that took 16x20 C-prints from dry to dry in a couple of minutes- very sweet, but another story.

I'd look for a lift for your CPE2 on eBay. Currently, there's a lift for a CPA2 or CPP2 going for $1.25 in a no reserve auction (Item 2956934730). I sure wouldn't pay over $200 for a new one with so many people dumping their darkroom stuff:
