Just an update for those who asked. My son was born healthy and cute as can be.

My wife is tired, but healthy (and cute) as well. The whole event was just

absolutely amazing. One of the best things I have experienced in my life. Yes, we took photos. Many many photos. Some of them quite powerful and well done. However, birth photos aren't really the kind of thing that gets shared with the world (if I want to have a happy wife), so you'll have to take my word for it.

<p>

Thanks to all of you who left compliments, encouragement, and positive thoughts

on <a href="http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00PZPv">the other thread</a>. I spend so much time dealing with complaints and problems

it's really nice to be reminded that there is a good community of people here

and that we all have more in common than there are differences.

<p>

FWIW, I'm still not "back at work" today. But I anticipate at least catching up

on the "contact us" email and a few other things starting tonight or tomorrow.

But I'm not making any promises. This baby is just too amazing to ignore for long.

Congratulations Josh! . . Children are absolutely wonderful and they change your life in a very special way. Like a famous song on the radio today, "you're gonna want this back" .. as you reflect on him as he grows up. And they all grow up too fast for parents. I expect you'll be wearing out the camera shutter before too long.

<i>"If you've got any sense you take an extended leave."</i>

<p>

I'm going to guess that most folks on photo.net would NOT want me to take an extended leave.

<p>

But not to worry, while there are annoying parts of running this joint, one of the huge advantages is that I get to work from home. So even when I'm working, I get to see my wife and son all day.

Wonderful, Josh. Congrats. So much of the rest of the world's nonsense will start to just roll off of you like water from a duck. You've got Dad Armour now. Best of luck, and hope he's got that magic sleeps-at-night DNA. Please don't pay too much attention to us for a while!
