marc_falcone
I have just read on B&H site that Konica IR 750 in 120 film is discontinued! They still have outdated film for sale. Is that true? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home? O=NavBar&A=search&Q=&ci=
scott_eaton
The film had weak IR sensitivity to begin with, so in that respect it was no big loss. What was cool about the Konica film is it had a huge density range, and pretty darn good pictorial qualities. Kind of like a cross between Kodak Plus-X and Pan-F. Grain wasn't too shabby either. david_hay1
Konica IR 750 120 is still available in the UK. It is a good film if you want the black skies and white foliage without the overblown effect of Kodak. It is not correct to suggest that it is not a useful film. jerry thirsty
It's still listed on the Konica USA web site. Maybe B&H has just sold out this years run and won't have anymore until they produce the next batch in 2005?
don_james
Konica-Minolta still has it on their web site: http://photo.konicaminolta.us/products/film/#ir750 Adorama also still carries it. Any announcement from K-M about discontinuing it?
hilander
I bought a bunch of outdated rolls this spring from B&H. Central Camera here in Chicago told me that it is only shipped once a year and they were still waiting for their supply to arrive. They were told that a large retailer in New York bought all that was available. Perhaps that's whay Andorama still has fresh rolls on their website? Any ways, here's one of my shots with IR 750: http://www.photo.net/photo/2431061 I really love this film, and will greatly miss it if they do stop producing it. Is there another alternative for 120? I've tried the Ilford SFX 200, but that just does not produce the same effect.
kevin_ing
There's no mention of their discontinuing this film on the Japanese KonicaMinolta web site. This film is only produced once per year in the spring, so perhaps B&H just means that their supply of this year's film has sold out and they have to wait until next year before they get fresh film. josphy
I was wondering the same thing about the film, Marc, so I emailed B&H. I got an email back from Yossi a few days later saying that the note on the website is old, and the film that they have in stock now is fresh. josphy
Correction to what I just wrote: that was regarding the 35mm version of the film. I'll be sad if the 120 version really is discontinued -- perhaps they mean that they will no longer be carrying it.
