Sandy Vongries
"This page cannot be found" Mine comes up normally, as does Explore / Browse by categories. Don't know what to tell you!
Sanford
You know me, first to panic, it always comes back eventually, or has in the past, thanks for checking. Edited September 3, 2021 by Sanford
Sanford
I get the same error message on other's gallery pages, even yours. Time for a long walk...
samstevens
I just got error messages going to both your gallery pages. Sanford, I’ll meet you halfway, in Davenport. :) 1 "You talkin' to me?"
Sanford
Haven't been to Davenport in a while, or out of the county for that matter. Maybe I finally put too many photos on the site, I'll delete a bunch after my walk. BTW, your page gives me an error message.
Sandy Vongries
12:19 p.m. Mountain Time - my gallery is fine, and the sort function even worked. No guarantee it would take, but things seem usual.
samstevens
They are usual, in that the site functions for some and malfunctions for others. Spot on! "You talkin' to me?"
steve_gallimore1
Down for me too, yours and mine, error
JDMvW
Yeah. When I try to access my "Portfolio" (is this what you are calling "gallery"?) I get 404 too.
Sandy Vongries
Sorry Folks, I no longer have a Tech Contact, nor any other to advise of the issue. When I click on Portfolio, there is a drop down box, under that Galleries. When I click on Galleries it opens. Win 7 and Chrome. Worked just now at 1:57 p.m. Mountain Time. I will see if uploading a photo works and edit this post. Edit: I was able to upload a photo.
Sanford
Yes, galleries = portfolio and yes, still down. I was able to upload a photo.
Sanford
My "subscription" expires in a day or two. Is there any chance this is the reason for my problems? Should I renew something that isn't even working, and how much is it?
Sandy Vongries
I have no answer to that, but I doubt that your upcoming renewal would impact anything today. Haven't seen anything move with that kind of speed in a good while.
samstevens
Is there any chance this is the reason for my problems? Likely not, since several others are experiencing the problem. My renewal is not up, since I haven’t been willing to pay for this disintegrating site for a few years now, and I’m getting the same error message as you. The flaw in your thinking, Sanford, is looking for a rationale behind the software malfunction. There is none. It’s random. How it gets fixed, with no tech person to contact, I’m not sure. Maybe it will. Maybe it won’t. We’re living in very uncertain times on a lot of levels. Will we have a site? A state? A country? An earth? Civil rights? No easy answer to any of these! 1 "You talkin' to me?"
Sandy Vongries
Ah, is that pack you grabbed on the way out of a falling aircraft a parachute or someone's Lunch. A frisson of uncertainty. One never knows.
Sanford
several others But not all others.
samstevens
But not all others. Right, thus I used the word “random.” If it were all of us, there would be a possibly easier rationale to it. My point was that there being several others (and no one else mentioned being close to renewal) means your renewal status likely has nothing to do with the problem. 1 "You talkin' to me?" inoneeye
I learned a new expression today - link rot. I use portfolio links often but not available today. I get 410 & 404d on everyone. Maybe adminstrators have the only access today...? 1 i n o n e e y e
FranzWeber
I have that problem too. When I try to open my Public Profile there is shown "https://www.photo.net/410" as the URL and I get the 404-error.
Timo Hartikainen
I noticed those 404-error messages yesterday and it seems to be the same today, too. The trending gallery thumbnail photos are ok, but I can't open any of them.
frigo
I have that problem too. When I try to open my Public Profile there is shown "https://www.photo.net/410" as the URL and I get the 404-error. I have the same problem.I can still upload photos, submit for critique, view trending, view photos in critique line but cannot comment, This new malfuction not related to my status as I have just renewed my subscription less than a month ago.
Sanford
Really no point in renewing membership now.
Sandy Vongries
Sorry to all for the inconvenience. My Profile also gets the 401 message, but the gallery works, photos will open, and someone even left an admire on a test photo I posted yesterday. I have no suggestions other than to hunker down for a bit and see what happens. Personally, I would not renew till things are working properly.
WJT
I, also, am getting the 404 error. Perhaps this is just the servers doing their weekly auto maintenance? In any event I think the time has arrived to start whittling down my posted portfolio, if possible. Regards.
