fred_monsone
Hi Everyone,
I have a Bowens Softbox 60 x 80cm and it came without the internal diffuser. I therefore get marked hotspots when I shoot close up portraits.

Warehouse Express says I cannot buy an internal diffuser and retrofit it to my softbox and I wanted to know if anyone out there (since so many of you seem to be so resourceful and come up with lots of good DIY ideas) knows a way around this. Can I indeed buy an internal diffuser and 'anchor' it to the softbox, maybe with string or something?

Many thanks,

Fred
scotbaston
Just a thought, how about thin white linen and sticky back velcro?

Cheers

Scot
mitchfalk
Photoflex sells spare parts for its boxes, see if they have one you can retrofit. Check the internal dimensions first before you order, they should be quite a few inches smaller.
twmeyer
I bought a roll of this stuff years ago and have found it extremely useful for shaping light. I keep a small piece inside a little octagonal box for my Lumedyne... t
tim_ludwig2
White nylon (ripstop if you can find it) and the sticky back velcro, preferably reinforced with stitching on both the soft box and the baffle.

Be careful to place it at least several inches away from the modeling light so you don't get some unhappy surprises..
mrstubbs
White oven paper is about the cheapest I can think of...it's usually in the kitchen. :~)
Use that until you get to a fabric shop...some light white nylon...@ 4or5 dollars a mt.
