erik_l.
So today is the day to celebrate our freedoms, right? This morning, my 9 month old daughter wakes me up at about 6:30, and the Los Angeles sun is blazing. I figure I would take her outside to capture the nice morning light on film. As I pick up my M6, something brushes upon my finger. I say to myself, "What the hell is this plastic stuck to my camera?" It turns out it is this plastic protector on the bottom plate of the camera. Am I stupid? I have never noticed this thing before. Before another minute passes, I realize this is the coveted plastic protector on the bottom plate that I see listed in "for sale" items. The plastic is scratched and fogged beyond belief. How did I miss this thing? So I proceed to pull it off and dump it in the trash. Boy do I feel liberated. I swear I heard my M6 shutter whisper something about the breeze on it's newly uncovered bottom. The moral...I feel free. Erik.

john_chan2
We Canadians don't have that luxury. You see, when you tear off the plastic bottom plate protector you risk getting your tongue frozen onto the bottom plate when you change film in the dead of winter. You Yankees are blessed!
